I haven't decided entirely how to make this the best possible tool it can be, but I think it has HUGE potential.
The calendar itself is public, with anybody able to see full information about any event listed. It can be embedded into webpages (as I've done here ) and used pretty much however you want.
I envision this being a resource that anybody can go to from anywhere and find out what might be going on in the SoCal a cappella scene.
Perhaps touring groups could be added with their tour locations and times, or could look on the calendar to see if there's a concert going on that they might be able to join (or maybe see which groups are fairly active, and therefore might be willing to host them).
Fans of the genre can see who's singin' when, and members of the groups can see what events might conflict with potential concert dates.
It's extremely versatile, but I'm not 100% sure where to take it from here. Step one, I suppose, is to give you access - which is what I just did. Step two? Ask your opinion on what the next step might be.
So…got any thoughts? =)
Oh, and if your a cappella group has a Google Calendar, I'd love to get our calendars in sync. Send any event invites to joellevitz@gmail.com.
