CAMARILLO, California,
Saturday, August 29, 2009 – Dr Joel Levitz has announced “No
$tress September” at Harmony Healing and Wellness, a
chiropractic office providing light-touch Network Spinal
Analysis to people of all ages. This announcement comes in
celebration of his first year in practice in Ventura
County.
No $tress September
acknowledges the current stress in our lives by providing
free comprehensive exams and all necessary chiropractic
services to new patients through the month of
September. All
services through September 30th are provided at
no charge and without a financial commitment.
“We are all facing
stress right now,” says Dr. Levitz. “The question isn’t how
much stress we have, but how well we adapt to that
stress.”
Network Spinal Analysis
(NSA) is based on the idea that it is through our nervous
system that we perceive and influence our
world. When
a person experiences physical, chemical, or emotional
stress, direct pressure or a stretching force can be
placed on the nerves of the body. Because the function of
every cell, organ, and tissue is determined by these
nerves, when we experience stress, we are not able to
fully experience the world around us.
In today’s society, we
experience all of these stresses on a near constant basis.
Our bodies, which were designed to fight or take flight
while stressed, are losing their ability to adapt. The
nervous energy from our stress is becoming locked in tension
that is then stored in the body, putting strain on the
vertebrae, muscles, ligaments and discs. Our body’s
continual storage of tension causes muscular tightness,
spinal distortion and reduced breathing. Consequently, our
range of motion in reduced and we often feel pain. Until the
body feels it is safe to experience any of the stored
energy, we cannot feel well or whole.
With gentle but precise
touches along the spine, a NSA practitioner directly
interacts with the central nervous system. The light-touch contact helps people
to naturally unwind the stored tension in the body.
This helps to create the safety to release pain and chronic stress patterns
locked in the nervous system. As people continue to work
with their NSA practitioner, they develop new strategies for
processing future stress and are thus able to make better
conscious choices.
Network Spinal Analysis
is not about getting rid of stress; stress is a natural
aspect of life. Without stress, there can be no structure.
NSA is about transforming stress of all kinds into a usable
energy source for your body. As the body releases tension,
we become able to handle a larger flow of energy and the
general stress that accompanies it.
“We all need stress in our lives to grow,”
says Dr. Levitz. “It’s only when we feel we can’t lift any more
weights while exercising that our muscles grow, our minds are
pushed all through school so we can learn, and we push
ourselves in life to grow emotionally. Stress is necessary;
it’s only when we move past the point of growth that we hurt
our bodies or overwhelm our emotional
system.”
